Le Nain Rouge, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, et Mère Minique, La Sorcière
oil on linen
24 x 18 inches
This is a depiction of three characters from the time of French occupation of Detroit, about 300 years ago. Mère Minique amusese the soldiers by telling fortunes. Monsieur Cadillac is sceptical but curious about his own future. Le Nain Rouge clouds the forecasts since his presence around Detroit is associated with unhappy developments.
In a private collection.
